How to become "Certified"

Short Answer:

You and your dog take a locally administered test that demonstrates your dog’s gentleness, obedience, and overall suitability. Two tests are available locally, one a bit more casual, and one a bit more stringent. Fort Smith Pets with a Purpose can walk you through either.

There are no Laws, nor any  governmental ‘Certification Agencies,’ or even governmental rules about becoming a Therapy Dog.

There ARE about four national, charitable organizations that each have their own “Certification” test, and
